Festive atmosphere in State, thanks to development works: Andhra Minister

Owing to the development works being taken up by the government, a festival atmosphere has set in everywhere ahead of Sankranti, said Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Y. Satya Kumar Yadav on Saturday (January 11).

Launching the Palle Panduga programme at Paritala village in NTR district, the Minister said those settled in cities and towns and returning to their villages for the Sankranti are expressing happiness at the scale of development that took place in the past six months.

Responding to a villager who sought supply of drinking water, the Minister said the government was taking steps to ensure clean water supply to every household under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Detailing a few schemes, he said the government supported farmers through the Annadata Sukhibhava programme, under which every farmer will be given ₹20,000, and the education of poor children under the Thalli Vandanam programme.

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath also took part in the programme.
