Cockfight foiled; three roosters, knives seized in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district

The Koutala police have foiled a cockfight and apprehended nine persons for allegedly making arrangements for the banned game near a park in Janagama village of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district during Sankranti festivities on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a farm near the Palle Prakruthi Vanam in Janagama and seized three roosters, three knives and ₹3,900 cash.

The accused hail from various villages in Koutala and its neighbouring mandals.

Police maintained a strict vigil at fruit orchards and farms in various mandals elsewhere in the district to strictly enforce the ban on cockfights in the last three days.
