BREAKING: Met Office issues 'danger to life' amber weather warning - list of 16 areas affected

A number of areas are facing violent gusts and heavy rain which could result in a danger to life, the Met Office has warned

An amber weather warning for dangerous winds and heavy rain has been issued across large parts of the UK, with gusts strong enough to cause flying debris, possibly resulting in "a danger to life".

The warning comes as Storm Bram was officially named this morning, with the Met Office warning Brits to expect a spell of very strong and disruptive winds to north-west Scotland on Tuesday night. The amber wind warning is in place from 4pm until midnight tomorrow, and is set to bring travel chaos - including delayed flights, buses, trains and ferries - as well as power cuts and damage to buildings.
