Woman 'punched in face and forced into car' as police launch urgent appeal

A man, 42, has been arrested and remains in custody following the incident on Main Street in the village of Portglenone, Northern Ireland, on Saturday night.
The PSNI said it was reported by a member of the public that a male had assaulted a female, punching her to the head and face before forcing her into a black Nissan Quashqai around 10pm. Police are now appealing for witnesses and would like anyone who may have footage of the incident to contact the force, BelfastLive reports.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "An 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including false imprisonment, common assault and taking a motor vehicle without authority. He remains in custody at this time.
"Officers are appealing to those who witnessed this incident, who tried to intervene or who may have CCTV or other video footage of this to please contact officers on 101 quoting reference 2 15/03/26."
