Who was the Zodiac Killer as new chilling documentary releases on Netflix

This is the Zodiac Speaking is a new three-part documentary on Netflix about a serial killer in Northern California in the late 60s.

Netflix is known for its impressive roster of true-crime documentaries and a brand new one titled This is the Zodiac Speaking was released on the platform today (Wednesday, October 23).

The new three-part series documents the one of the most notorious unsolved serial killer cases of all time, following multiple killings in Northern California in the late 60s.

The new doc-series follows a family searching for answers as they share clues and eye-opening testimonies about the prime suspect.

The Zodiac killer murdered at least five victims between December 1968 and October 1969, but nobody was ever arrested because of lack of evidence.

It is unclear who the Zodiac killer was, but police suspected it was Arthur Leigh. He was never arrested due to a lack of evidence.

He died in 1992 and ever since then, the families of the victims were unable to get any justice or closure as the case was left open.

During the course of the three-part documentary, several people come forward, including those who personally knew Arthur, to share their testimonies.

Amongst those who were interviewed were David and Connie Seawater, who would go on weekend trips with Arthur, a local school teacher who they said was like a father to them.

Both David and Connie came forward to reveal they believed Arthur was the one responsible for the killings.

It was argued that the murders had stopped when Arthur was arrested for child molestation in 1974.

He went on to spend three years in prison which was followed by five years of felony probation until 1982.

In the documentary, Connie revealed that she now believes Arthur had previously hinted to her that he was the killer.

The two were sailing together in 1991 and she recalled that she had outright asked him if he was the killer.

She claimed that he said that if he told her, he would have to kill her, which she thought was a "big joke" on his part.

David admitted that Arthur called him crying and allegedly admitted he had drugged the two when they were kids and molested Connie.

After revealing his crimes, David asked if he was the Zodiac killer, to which he said he reportedly responded with yes.

The Seawater children's mother Phyllis never thought Arthur could be the serial killer or a child molester and defended him.

In the docu-series, David and Connie divulged that they had found a box of letters in 2017, between Arthur and their mother.

They read parts of the letter, as one bit read: "Seeing a murder headline would turn my palms sweaty," as another line Arthur tellingly wrote said: "The most dangerous thing is when I almost decided to confess."
