M6 crash LIVE: Traffic chaos on motorway as police shut road after major collision

All traffic is being held and traffic queues are growing due to an accident on the M6 Northbound between J32 M55 Broughton Interchange and J33 A6 Preston Lancaster Road

A crash has seen all traffic on the M6 come to a halt on a stretch of the northbound carriageway this evening.

Emergency services have rushed to the scene in Lancashire between J32 for the M55 Broughton Interchange and J33 for Lancaster South/Garstang. Long delays have been caused in the area following the incident, which was first reported shortly after 5pm.

Inrix, the traffic monitoring service, reports: "All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound between J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange) and J33 A6 Preston Lancaster Road (Lancaster South / Garstang)".
