Kimberley man charged over burglaries, sexual assault

Turning to crime news first, a man from the Kimberley region has been arrested and charged, after allegedly going on a burglary spree, breaking into a woman’s home and sexually assaulting her.

Police charged the 25-year-old man from Halls Creek on Tuesday over the incidents which occurred in February 2024.

The accused allegedly gained entry to a residence on Kinivan Street and sexually assaulted the woman living there.

It is further alleged that the accused stole assorted items from locations on Kinivan Street and Roberta Avenue.

He has been charged with three counts of stealing, aggravated home burglary, burglary, and sexual penetration without consent.
