New York — JLI’s Land & Spirit Israel Experience has been postponed due to the escalating war between Israel and Iran.

Scheduled to take place March 9–15, was set to bring 500 participants from more than 60 Chabad centers across the United States and Canada for a week-long journey of inspiration, learning, and connection in Israel.

In a message sent to participants, organizers explained that the decision followed consultations with security professionals and relevant authorities.

“Following ongoing assessments and consultations with security professionals and relevant authorities, we have been informed that under the current circumstances the trip cannot proceed as planned,” the organizers wrote. “We therefore regret to inform you that the trip is being postponed.”

The Land & Spirit, coordinated by JLI and facilitated by Israel Maven, brings Jewish community members to Israel for a deeply meaningful and inspiring experience. Through a rich blend of study sessions, inspiring tours, and opportunities for discovery, participants encounter leading dignitaries, Chief Rabbis, shluchim, and other remarkable personalities, creating powerful moments of connection, along with their Shluchim and Shluchos from their local Chabad communities.

Over the past week, JLI staff along with Israel Maven and the Shluchim Steering Committee have been in ongoing discussion in light of the developing war in Iran. The Shluchim Steering Committee, who dedicate much time planning the trip with JLI, include: Rabbis Yechiel Baitelman, Dovid Flinkenstein, Chanoch Kaplan, Levi Klein, Mendy Mangel, and Sholom Raichik.

According to JLI and Israel Maven, refunds will be issued in accordance with the trip’s emergency cancellation policy, and participants will also have the option of applying their funds toward a rescheduled trip. Organizers are currently working toward new tentative dates for the program.

Many expenses for the trip — including hotels, venues, and transportation — had already been prepaid. Organizers said they are coordinating with vendors in Israel so that refunds can be processed as promptly as possible.

Participants have expressed that this will not deter them from joining the rescheduled trip and that they look forward to returning with an even greater sense of Jewish pride and connection to the Holy Land.

In the meantime, participants were encouraged to continue strengthening Israel through performing mitzvos and acts of goodness and kindness, in honor of our brothers and sisters in our homeland.
