First Mezuzah Affixed at Florida Chief Justice’s Office
Rabbi Schneur Oirechman and his son Rabbi Ari Oirechman, the Rebbe’s Shluchim to Florida's Capital, had the privilege of joining the new Chief Justice John D. Couriel to affix a mezuzah at his office - the first mezuzah ever to grace the doorway of the office of Florida's Chief Justice.

Couriel to affix a mezuzah at his office – the first mezuzah ever to grace the doorway of the office of Florida’s Chief Justice.
A mezuzah is far more than a symbol. It is a declaration of faith, a reminder of G-d’s presence, and a source of blessing and protection for all who enter.
“To stand at the Florida Supreme Court and share this timeless mitzvah with Chief Justice Couriel was a deeply meaningful moment for Jewish life in our state,” said Rabbi Schneur Oirechman.
“And with Rosh Hashanah just days away, the timing could not have been more meaningful. We also had the opportunity to sound the shofar and celebrate the approaching Jewish New Year together.”
The ancient words of the Shema, contained within the mezuzah, now have a permanent place on the doorway of the office of the Chief Justice of the State of Florida.
“We are deeply grateful to Chief Justice Couriel for the warmth with which he welcomed this special moment and for the opportunity to bring Jewish tradition into such a significant place in Florida’s public life.”
