NYPD Brooklyn North Reviews High Holiday Security Plans
Brooklyn North Chief Mark Vazquez and Honorary Commissioner Devorah Halberstam met with precinct commanding officers to review security plans for Jewish communities ahead of the High Holidays.
by COLlive Editor · COLliveNYPD Patrol Borough Brooklyn North held a security meeting to review plans for increased police coverage throughout Jewish communities during the High Holidays.
The meeting was led by Brooklyn North Chief Mark Vazquez and NYPD Honorary Commissioner Devorah Halberstam, and was attended by the precinct commanding officers.
The briefing covered areas with large Jewish populations across Brooklyn North, including Williamsburg and sections of Crown Heights covered by the 77th Precinct.
The plans included fixed details, foot posts and mobile patrols throughout the area and at local synagogues. Each commanding officer presented detailed security plans for their respective precinct, including the locations where officers would be stationed and the areas that would receive additional attention.
Community Affairs officers from the participating precincts were also present.
The meeting was part of the NYPD’s preparations to maintain an increased and visible police presence in Jewish neighborhoods throughout the High Holiday season.
