Why does voting matter?
Regardless of whom you vote for, the fact that our community turns out and votes matters. Elected officials pay attention to communities that participate in elections.
The Rebbe famously encouraged people to vote, saying, “Men darf gein voten.”
Just this past year, we’ve seen several developments affecting our Anash community:
✅ Protecting our Shuls and schools: NYS passed legislation strengthening protections against intimidation and obstruction at religious institutions.
✅ Supporting Jewish education: Public funding for vouchers.
✅ Helping families afford tuition: NYS is moving forward with participation in the federal scholarship tax credit program, which could help lower tuition costs.
Voting matters, regardless of whom you support.
Remember:
• Most registered voters do not need to show ID.
• Check both sides of your ballot.
• If you’re in line when polls close, you can still vote.
🗳️ Can’t vote today?
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
Polls are open 6 AM – 9 PM.

🚨 IMPORTANT CITIZENSHIP REMINDER
Only U.S. citizens can vote in New York elections. Green card holders cannot vote.
Some green card holders have received election notices and mistakenly believed they were eligible. Green card holders who vote will face serious immigration and legal consequences.
