KUCHING (April 11): Accommodation reservations at Bako National Park here have been temporarily closed as a precautionary measure during the current dry season.

The Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) announced this in a notice posted on its Facebook page on Friday.

“Accommodation reservations at Bako National Park are temporarily closed effective immediately until further notice due to low water supply caused by the dry season,” the corporation said.

SFC explained that the ongoing dry spell has caused water levels at the park’s gravity dam to drop.

As a result, the available water supply is insufficient to support all facilities at the park.

Hence, overnight stays have been suspended as a precuationary measure.

“Updates will be announced through SFC’s official channels. Tour operators and relevant stakeholders are urged to disseminate this notice,” the corporation added.
