Miri police seek public’s help in locating woman in connection to alleged child abuse case

The Miri police is seeking the public’s help in locating Nurul Jannah Roslan.

MIRI (Oct 26): The police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a woman in connection with an investigation into a child abuse case.

The individual, identified as Nurul Jannah Roslan, 26, is wanted for questioning to aid in the ongoing investigation.

In a statement issued on Friday, Miri district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the search of Nurul Jannah was a crucial part of the investigation in the alleged child abuse.

“The individual is registered with an address at No 25, Jalan Indah 4, Taman Indah, Pontian, Johor. She is required by the Miri District Criminal Investigation Division as part of an investigation under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001,” he said, adding the investigation remains a top priority.

The section of the Act addresses child abuse and mistreatment offences with penalties aimed at protecting children and holding offenders accountable.

Alexson emphasised the importance of community engagement in locating the woman, stressing that any information could be invaluable.

“Those who may have relevant details or knowledge of Nurul Jannah’s current location are urged to report to the nearest police station. They can contact Senior Investigating Officer of the Miri District Criminal Investigation Division ASP Anuar Affindi at 019-731 9540 or 085-433 730,” he said.
