Local man nabbed in connection with theft case in Miri
by Cindy Lai · Borneo Post OnlineMIRI (Jan 12): A local man was arrested on Sunday in connection with a theft case at an electrical goods storage facility.
According to a statement posted on Miri District Police Facebook page, the arrest was made at 1.20pm at a house along Jalan Piasau Utara 1C here.
“Police also seized a vehicle and several items belonging to the suspect, believed to have been used in the commission of the theft. These items are being held as case exhibits,” the statement read.
The suspect is currently remanded at the Miri Central Police Station lock-up for further investigation under Section 379 of the Penal Code.
Police reminded the public to not engage in theft or any criminal activities that could bring harm to themselves.
Members of the public are also urged to provide information to the police to assist in efforts to combat crime in Miri district.
