MP: Over 80 pct of Stampin Service Centre’s funds allocated for education
by Samuel Aubrey · Borneo Post OnlineKUCHING (Jan 15): More than 80 per cent of funds from the Stampin Parliamentary Service Centre have been allocated for educational purposes, said Chong Chieng Jen.
The Stampin MP said these include provision of smart televisions for primary schools under the digitalisation programme; tertiary education assistance for undergraduates as well as Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) reward programmes; and upgrading school facilities.
“Education has always been my emphasis in the utilisation of allocations. For 2025, I will continue emphasising on education and hopefully we can provide a better learning environment for the students in schools,” he said in a statement today.
Additionally, Chong revealed that an allocation of RM200,000 for SMK Sungai Tapang was approved early this year, intended for the upgrading and renovation of the school’s hall.
“Without delay, I have handed over the allocation today to the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) so the upgrading and renovation works can be carried out starting next week, which coincides with the year-end school holidays,” he said.
Also present at the handing over ceremony were his special assistants Michael Kong and Sim Kiat Leng.
