SIBU (Nov 18): The Sarawak government is dedicated to promoting and implementing welfare policies that closely align with the needs of the people, said Dato Sri Tiong King Sing.

The Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister pointed out that this ‘government-community cooperation’ would mutually benefit all in return.

“It is this government-community cooperation that allows more individuals to benefit from these initiatives,” said Tiong, who is Dudong assemblyman and Bintulu MP.

The government-community collaboration, he reiterated, ensures that the welfare policies are ‘not only on paper’ but are truly integrated to benefit all.

The minister’s text-of-speech was read by Joshua Ting, a political secretary to the Premier, who represented him at the ‘Hari Kebajikan Khidmat Mesra Upper Lanang’ at Pulai Li Hua here yesterday.

Through this event, Tiong said the visitors would get to learn more on Kenyalang Gold Card benefits and other Sarawak government’s welfare initiatives as well as to directly engage and address their concerns to the community leaders.

Present at the event were community leaders Tiong Chong Ting, Pet Yen Leh, Connie Loh and Chiong Siong Teck.
