KUCHING (Nov 17): Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian has been re-elected to lead the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Pending branch for another three years.

The SUPP president’s re-election reflects the strong confidence and trust that SUPP Pending members place in his leadership and vision for the future of the branch and the party as a whole, according to a statement from the branch.

The statement was issued following the branch’s 15th triennial general meeting (TGM) held at the SUPP headquarters here today.

In his acceptance speech, Dr Sim expressed deep gratitude to all party members for their steadfast support.

He reaffirmed his commitment to an inclusive leadership style that fosters unity and participation, ensuring that each member has a meaningful role in strengthening the party and serving the community.

“Together, we can build a more robust and responsive organisation that truly represents and meets the needs of our people,” he said.

The branch election saw new leadership for the Youth and Women sections.

Liew Jui Heng is now the newly-minted Youth chief while Sim Bee Kim is the new chairperson for the Women section.

“They bring fresh perspectives and energy to their respective roles and have expressed their enthusiasm for working closely with members to address the needs of their sections,” the statement said.

The TGM also honoured party veterans, appointing Datuk Sim Kheng Hui, Puan Sri Sim Lim Su Kheng, Chan Chiaw Yam and Kho Kheng Hee as honourary chairpersons.

This is in recognition of their years of service and contributions to the party as vital pillars in the branch’s history and ongoing development.

“Notably, the Pending branch committee welcomed an influx of new talent, with seven new members joining the main committee, 14 in the Youth section and three in the Women section.

“This fresh line-up signals the branch’s commitment to cultivating new leaders and embracing diverse perspectives within the organisation,” the statement pointed out.

As SUPP moves forward, the Pending branch pledged to remain dedicated to its mission of fostering a unified and inclusive approach to party leadership and community service.
