KUCHING (Nov 27): The Asia Pacific Aerospace Conference & Exhibition (APACE) 2026 will be held from Jan 27 to 29 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here, marking a significant step in establishing Sarawak as a rising aerospace and aviation hub in the region.

The event is hosted by the Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) and i-CATS University College, in collaboration with Borneo Business Connect Sdn Bhd and supported by Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak).

Its Minister Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said APACE 2026 reflects strong collaboration between the Sarawak government, federal ministries, and regional partners, including the Socio-Culture and Education (SCE) cluster of BIMP-EAGA.

“APACE 2026 is a milestone underscoring Sarawak’s determination to become Asean’s next competitive aerospace hub.

“We are leveraging our hydro-energy capacity to pioneer initiatives in the hydrogen economy, ensuring a future powered by clean, abundant energy,” he told a press conference at the State Legislative Assembly.

The three-day event is expected to attract over 3,000 visitors, more than 1,000 delegates, 50 exhibitors, and over 60 distinguished speakers across over 50 conference sessions.

Speakers include leaders from National Aerospace Industry Corporation (NAICO Malaysia), NACO Netherlands, Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and NOVASPACE France, highlighting the international scope of the conference.

A key feature is Career Day and Educational Talks on the third day, organised by MEITD and Social Security Organisation (Socso) with i-CATS University College and Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (Centexs).

The programme aims to inspire and prepare Sarawakians to pursue careers in aviation, aerospace engineering, airport operations, digital aviation technologies, and other high-value fields, supporting the government’s vision of a future-ready, industry-driven workforce under the Sarawak Talent Development Blueprint.
