SIBU (Dec 11): Four Chinese-aided primary schools here, SJK(C) Kiew Nang, SJK(C) Dung Sang, SJK(C) Su Lai and SJK(C) Kiang Hin, have received smart classroom facilities to enhance teaching and learning.

Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang said the state government, through the Sarawak Chinese Schools Consultative, allocated RM5 million to upgrade selected Chinese-aided primary schools across the state with these facilities.

“This includes electronic versions of reference materials for Mathematics and Science subjects,” he said during the handover ceremony.

The Pelawan assemblyman emphasised that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to equality for all students.

“Whether in national primary schools or Chinese-aided primary schools, all students in Sarawak are treated equally,” he said.

He explained that the smart classroom facilities aim to foster greater interest in Science and technology among students.

“Through interactive, internet-connected classrooms, students can engage more with the lessons and access the latest electronic learning materials.

“I believe this will enhance the global competitiveness of our next generation,” he said, adding that the initiative represents a next-level approach to modern teaching.
