Miri MP recognised for dedication with deputy minister role, says PKR Sibuti deputy chief
by Jacqueline Raphael · Borneo Post OnlineMIRI (Dec 17): The appointment of Miri MP Chiew Choon Man as Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture has been hailed as a fitting recognition of his dedication and contributions to the people.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat (Keadilan) Sibuti branch deputy chief Zulhaidah Suboh said the move reflects the national leadership’s confidence in Chiew’s capability, particularly in championing the interests of Miri at both local and national levels.
“Tourism, arts and culture are important pillars of the national economy and catalysts for national unity.
“Under the leadership of YB Chiew together with Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, we believe this sector will continue to be strengthened, boosting Malaysia’s reputation as a preferred international tourism destination,” she said in a statement.
Zulhaidah added that efforts to preserve and promote the country’s rich arts and cultural heritage are expected to be further enhanced under Chiew’s stewardship.
Keadilan Sibuti also expressed readiness to collaborate closely with Chiew and the ministry to advance shared agendas benefiting both the industry and the community.
