About 8.40am on Thursday, November 27, 2025, officers attached to Tweed/Byron Highway Patrol were patrolling the Mid North Coast area when they stopped a hire truck on the Pacific Highway, near Macleay Valley Way, for routine roadside testing.

Following a breath test on a 31-year-old man, police conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly located a number of boxes.

Police will allege they located and seized a total of 942,040 cigarettes, 15,380 vapes, and 10 kilograms of tobacco pouches, with an estimated street value of $1,961,300.

The vehicle was subsequently seized for further inquiries.
