Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and Their Kids Have Landed in England

The Sussexes have arrived! Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Prince Archie, Princess Lilibet, and their dogs have officially landed in England to begin their new chapter in the United Kingdom. The Telegraph reports that the family flew privately and landed at Birmingham Airport around lunchtime on Wednesday (August 26). Their kids will reportedly start school as soon as next week.

The couple’s new home is a “closely guarded” secret, according to People, and they’ll be keeping their mansion in Montecito, as well as their vacation house in Portugal. Meanwhile, the exact length of their stay is unclear, with a source telling The Times that the Sussexes don’t expect to be in the UK “for ever” and that “It’ll be an extended period of time—it could be six months, it could be a year, it could be more—I don’t think even they know yet.”

Meghan and Harry’s rep, however, told The New York Times that “On the heels of a wonderful trip with family and friends this summer, Harry and Meghan have decided to spend an extended period in the U.K. this autumn.” So this could be a pretty short trip!

As for what they’ll do in England re: potential royal engagements, People reports there will be “no change to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s status as private individuals and non-working members of the royal family, in keeping with the wishes they expressed and the agreement reached when they stepped back from royal duties.”
