Meanwhile US President Donald Trump made a cryptic post on his Truth Social account. The post which read, "it was a calm before the storm," alongside an AI-generated image of himself on a US Navy vessel in rough seas with warships and apparent Iranian-flagged ships in the background, intensified concerns over potential renewed escalation with Iran.
The US-Israel-Iran war which began in late February, stands paused after US-brokered ceasefire, in effect since April 8, 2026, continues to hold tenuously but faces significant strain from sporadic drone and missile incidents. President Donald Trump has repeatedly described the US-Iran ceasefire as extremely fragile, most notably calling it “on massive life support."
With global oil supply chain under constrians, incidents like this risk unraveling it, potentially reigniting broader conflict and prolonging global energy market strains.
