What Election Day Commentators Are Saying: Trump Rants, Hasan Piker Wonders If MAGA ‘Cult’ Is Over and More (Updating)
by William Earl · VarietyIt’s Election Day in America, which means that pundits were falling over each other to discuss the day’s results as soon as the polls opened. At stake: all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, 35 Senate seats and plenty of high-profile state races. Here’s what some of the country’s loudest and most influential talkers had to say about America’s big vote day.
Donald Trump
Trump started his Election Day rants early, taking to Truth Social to say, “Abdul El-Sayed Hates Jews and Hates Blacks. Don’t feel bad, he also Hates Whites. Only fools would vote for him in the Michigan race for the U.S. Senate! He will, 100%, do you in!”

He called into “Fox & Friends” later in the morning to go on a lengthy diatribe about everything on his mind, including why the war in Iran isn’t a big deal.
“Iran had threat of a nuclear weapon,” Trump said. “Iran is No. 1 state sponsor of terror in the world. They are the meanest. They are very tough. I see why Middle East was afraid of them. They’re very tough, but they have been decapitated. They have no Navy. They had 159 ships.
“Every ship is at the bottom of the sea, every airplane is laying in small pieces, tiny pieces all over the runway. No anti-aircraft, we took some out last night,” he continued. “Minor attack, wasn’t war. They built an anti-aircraft facility, it took them about two months. We watched it get built. We hit it last night nicely, not big war. You talk about war, this is not really war. We have — hit them hard at the beginning, but that was it. We knocked out their nuclear capability and dust, thousands of tons of rocks, we have that under surveillance, if anyone went there we’d hit it again. We have Space Force I developed my first term. We can see the badge, name tag on man’s chest from outer space. It’s the most unbelievable stuff you’ve ever seen.”
Hasan Piker
The outspoken Twitch streamer took to X early in the day to muse about some big questions, writing, “we’re abt to find out how much ‘cult’ still remains in maga today. Is it over? Is it still strong? how well does racial polarization & pure vitriol work on Americans after experiencing negative real wage growth? can trump truly reverse every single campaign promise & still maintain the cattle vote?”

On the Election Day morning edition of the podcast, the trio of hosts were bullish on a blue wave. When Jon Favreau asked if not winning both chambers will feel like a loss for Democrats at this point, Jon Lovett gave a passionate response.
“In this environment, with a President this despicable, with an illegal war, with the tariffs, with a Republican Congress rubber-stamping this ridiculous, vile, lawless administration, if we can’t win both chambers, then yes, that will be a loss,” Lovett said.

On MS Now, Joe Scarborough called the Republican Party’s closing arguments “astronomically stupid.”
“You have Ramaswamy talking about Communism, right?” Scarborough said. “And there is no Communism here. Amy Acton has no Communist views, Donald Trump does … It’s not what the Democrats are doing, but they’re talking about Communism instead of talking about the price of the cost of gas, Communism instead of the cost of diesel, Communism instead of the cost of groceries. I’m not good at this political stuff, but I think that and a reflecting pool doesn’t add up to victory for Republicans today.”
