Foreign Man Says He Only Came for ‘Business’ After Getting Caught for Khalwat with Married Johor Woman
by Azri Azizan · WORLD OF BUZZA married Malaysian woman and an Indonesian man, both in their 50s, were caught for khalwat in a hotel room in Kluang, Johor, recently.
Johor Religious Department (JAINJ) enforcement officers knocked on the door at around 1:20 AM, and a man in blue jeans and a collared shirt opened it. According to a JAINJ spokesperson, the man tried to evade the officers, claiming he was about to leave after using the toilet in the room.
From using the toilet to discussing businesses
When the officers entered the room, the woman was also there, and the couple admitted they were not married, claiming they were having a casual chat. Upon investigation, the woman checked into the hotel room a few hours earlier at 8 PM, and the man came at about 11 PM.
The Indonesian man is divorced and is working in the state, while the woman admitted to having a marriage crisis and is not staying with her husband anymore.
The couple also insisted they never planned to have sexual intercourse in the room and were only there to talk about business.
“It doesn’t matter what you admit to. The point is, you’re both caught alone in the room. If you want to discuss business, might as well go to a mamak restaurant. You could have a glass of Teh Tarik while at it,” the officer told the couple.
In its Facebook post, the JAINJ spokesperson added that the man remained polite during the questioning and repeatedly appealed for leniency, asking if they could be released.
The spokesperson also described the condition of the bed as if a “wrestling match” had taken place on it. Following the raid, the couple was brought to the police station for further action.
