As Donald Trump was named the winner of the 2024 US Presidential Election in a historic comeback to the White House, leaders from around the world sent congratulatory messages his way, including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who also urged him to help end violence in Palestine and Ukraine.

PAS congratulates Trump on his historic election win

Specifically, PAS, represented by its Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, issued a statement to extend its congratulations to Trump on his re-election as President of the United States and wished him good luck.

Fadhli, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pasir Mas, acknowledged that PAS is an opposition party in Malaysia with no direct connection with the US Presidential campaign.

However, PAS still hope that the US President-elect will prioritise a peace-oriented agenda, as Trump himself has emphasised during his campaign.

Moreover, PAS also urged Trump not to yield to Israel’s demands in the Middle East, saying that doing so could foster resentment toward the US among Muslims and result in America being seen as a puppet of Israeli interest.

The political party also hoped that with Trump’s victory, the world would experience a term free from global conflicts, with Trump fostering stability and international understanding.
