“Don’t be overly superstitious!” – Massive Pillar at Selangor Temple Questioned After Tragic Death of 17yo Girl
by Renushara · WORLD OF BUZZIt was reported yesterday (8 April) that a 17-year-old female Form 5 student lost her life after being struck by a falling beam while accompanying her family to a temple in Tanjong Sepat, Selangor.
Digital creator James Ooi has since taken to his Facebook page to question why the temple had installed such a substantial pillar that posed a risk to worshippers.
He wrote:
“Why place such a large pillar at the top? This question should be relayed to the monk who initially suggested it.
“You can have your beliefs, but please do not be overly superstitious.”
Answers are required
He went on to share his belief that the temple management should provide answers as to why they installed such a large pillar, which ultimately led to a loss of life.
“The temple management must explain why they placed such a large pillar at the temple. Very few temples have pillars of this size. The safety of such structures cannot be guaranteed; therefore, the temple has a duty to take responsibility,” he stated.
“The gods would not allow such a heavy object to be placed at the temple when considering the safety of worshippers. Therefore, the temple must provide an explanation!”
