Man arrested in Liverpool over murder of Robbie Lawlor

A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the investigation into the murder of Robbie Lawlor in Belfast almost six and a half years ago.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said that the man had been arrested by Merseyside Police in Liverpool yesterday, before being transported to Northern Ireland for questioning.

Gangland criminal Lawlor was shot dead in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast, on 4 April 2020.

The 36-year-old was heavily involved in the Drogheda feud and is believed to have travelled to Northern Ireland because he feared he was going to be attacked.

Gardaí believe he was responsible for the murder of 17-year-old Keane Mulready-Woods, whose remains were dismembered and left in various locations in Louth and Dublin.
