Man injured in Kerry road crash dies in hospital

A man has died in following a road traffic incident at Ballinskelligs Co Kerry.

Gardaí and emergency services had responded to a single-vehicle incident involving a van on a local road at Kilurly, Ballinskelligs at 2am.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was seriously injured and brought to University Hospital Kerry where he was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí said two other occupants of the van were assessed at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

The scene of the collision remains preserved for a technical examination and local traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
