Punishment revealed for Yankees-Rangers fans after ugly fight
· New York PostThey all got the boot early, but at least they didn’t have to spend the night in jail.
The Texas Rangers and Arlington police department announced that the four brawling fans from Monday’s game who went viral for their chaotic fight received criminal trespass warnings and ejections from Globe Life Field, but none were arrested, according to The Dallas Morning News.
It’s reportedly unclear if the foursome has been banned from the stadium for a lengthy period.
“The Rangers prioritize fan safety and staff members responded in accordance with their training,” the franchise told the outlet.
The clip of the fans brawling went viral after the Yankees’ 4-2 win on Monday night, with the pair of Bronx Bombers supporters suffering some bad lumps.
A man and woman, both wearing Yankees jerseys, appeared to be taunting fans sitting behind them, with the male saying “Brush your teeth” and making the brushing motion and his companion telling an unspecified individual to “Shut the f–k up” and also shushing someone in the area.
The commotion happened in section 133 in the right-field seats, per The Dallas Morning News.
Things escalated when a Rangers fan in blue gear stood up and the male Yankees fan appeared to swat a Coca Cola bottle out of his hand, resulting in the fan punching him in the face.
The Yankees fan fell backwards into a seat before a Rangers fan in red — who had been sitting to the right of the fan in blue — holding an object then started swatting the Yankees fan with said paraphernalia.
The outlet reported the object appeared to be a plastic drink holder shaped like a bat.
That red-clothed fan then went down a row and started swinging on the Yankees fan, while the female knocked his hat off and grabbed his shirt in an attempt to stop him.
The male Yankees fan rose and landed a blow on the fan in red, but the latter kept swinging and eventually landed a shot that knocked the Yankees fan on his butt and into a seat.
The woman then hit the fan in red while it seemed the action cooled down.
The male fan reportedly had blood on his face when stadium security and Arlington police eventually made their way to the area, and he was transported to a local hospital.
Things only got worse for the Yankees fans right before they exited.
The female fan appeared to say something to some fans — seemingly the Rangers fans in blue and read — and attempted to hit one or both, and the fan in blue reacted by hitting her in the face with bags.
The female fan stumbled back quite a few rows, with a long-range view showing the scary stumble backwards approximately five rows.
