Kathy Hochul, Letitia James and Dems are to blame for NY’s crisis — it’s time to vote for change

· New York Post

New York voters concerned about their state’s direction should not be confused about who is to blame.

It is not Donald Trump.

Democrats have run New York state completely for more than a decade, and dominated it for longer — driving an accelerating decline, even as the Legislature’s progressive supermajorities now in the thrall of socialists want to double down on their high-tax, high-spend, high-debt, feed-the-special-interests-at-all-costs approach.

That rush has only grown worse on Gov. Kathy Hochul’s watch, as the state budget’s ballooned to $269 billion in 2026 — up over 40% in just five years.

Do you feel like the state government is delivering 40% more value?

New Yorkers wanting to see real change should be voting out Gov. Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Tish James.

In our state’s case, this election is not a referendum on Donald Trump, however much Hochul and James would want to tell you so. It is an opportunity to correct New York’s slide.

James is emblematic of Albany’s other betrayal: Her contempt for public safety and cynical political weaponization of her powers is matched by her refusal to fight fraud — especially when the profiteers donate to her campaigns.

Saritha Komatireddy is the exact opposite: A proven bipartisan career prosecutor who’ll put public safety first, while also getting the AG’s office back to work preventing billions in theft from public-benefit programs.

Albany insiders’ indifference to waste, fraud or abuse as long as spending keeps rising is a huge reason why state and local debt now totals $37,000 per New Yorker, growing fast despite ever-higher tax bills plus de-facto taxes like Hochul’s “congestion pricing” tolls.

The gov is running for re-election with no real agenda beyond opposing Trump: Her campaign site says nothing about her plans for the next four years, but she’s basically confessed that she’ll be giving her new boss, Mayor Zohran Mamdani, some tax hikes, and the Legislature will want more still to close the coming $32 billion budget hole.

After the election, all the state’s power-brokers — lawmakers and lobbyists, socialists and special interests — will be off to their annual Puerto Rico retreat to brainstorm exactly how to screw over not just the billionaires but the rest of us, too.

New Yorkers need a governor who’ll say No! right upfront — not one who’ll start off by offering them most of what they want and then splitting the difference: That’s Bruce Blakeman, not Kathy Hochul.

We need an attorney general who’ll serve the public, not her political pals. That’s Saritha Komatireddy, not Tish James.

If you dislike where New York’s headed, vote for change.
