The week in whoppers: Obama cheers for Iranian victory, Ilhan Omar believes everyone is ‘obsessed’ with her, and more

Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions

This claim

“Iran . . . [is] in a stronger strategic position now than before the war started.” — Barack Obama, Saturday

We say: Will Obama never stop glazing the “Death to America” crew? Other nations used to fear Tehran’s veto; now more oil is flowing through the Strait than before the war, while Iran’s military and economy are in shambles.

This explanation

“ICE deported Texas dad to Ghana because home country was unsafe; Ghana sent him anyway.”  — 60 Minutes, Sunday

We say: Huh? Moussa Diawara applied for asylum from Mali in 2001 claiming he was gay; years later — married with kids — he suddenly cites a different need for asylum. Sorry, changing your story doesn’t erase immigration fraud.

This conclusion

“I think we just look really good on their screens.” — Rep. Ilhan Omar, Monday

We say: In typical “mean girl” style, Omar and Hasan Piker wonder why everyone is so “obsessed” with them and decide it’s just because they’re cute. Maybe the antisemitism and immigration fraud are factors, too?

This assertion

“Netanyahu, like Trump, like Orban, like Bolsonaro, would be a fascist leader.” — Brad Lander, Democratic House nominee, Tuesday

We say: Brad gives it away: A “fascist” is simply anyone a leftist hates. In reality, true fascist leaders don’t allow national elections they might lose. Trump, Netanyahu and Orban have accepted being voted out; Bolsonaro just fled Brazil because the “democratic” election winner was moving to jail him.
