Nationwide, Democrats elect and embrace socialists who hate America

· New York Post

Socialism is a cancer and it’s metastasized.

Democratic Socialists of America candidates are no longer relegated to dense urban areas on the East and West coasts.

Extremists are on the rise in virtually every Democratic Party stronghold in the country.

And those who believe that DSA candidates are merely dispatching a few “moderate” Democrats have it wrong.

In Colorado’s 1st Congressional District, Democratic Socialist Melat Kiros just knocked out near-30-year incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette, a prominent member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

DeGette supported an array of hard-left positions, including eliminating ICE, socializing medicine, and authoritarian “green” energy mandates.

A decade ago, there would have been virtually no lawmakers to the ideological left of DeGette in the House.

Next session, there will be at least a dozen.

DeGette’s real sin, of course, was failing to adopt the interminable, unhinged anti-Israel and anti-American rhetoric that’s become central to DSA messaging.

While Kiros entertains every antiquated and failed collectivist economic idea imaginable, it wasn’t affordability or expensive housing that lifted her campaign among largely well-heeled urban primary voters.

It was her obsessive antagonism toward the tiny Jewish state that excited activists.

Like other DSA members, Kiros is a Hamas apologist, justifying the rapes, murders and kidnappings of young women and children on Oct. 7 as an “inevitable” outcome of “occupation.”

When a terrorist named Mohamed Sabry Soliman threw Molotov cocktails at a group of peaceful Boulder demonstrators advocating for Hamas to release hostages held in Gaza — eventually taking the life an 82-year-old Holocaust survivor — Kiros prevaricated and refused to call it an antisemitic attack.

To do so would have surely turned off many of her supporters.

In her victory speech, Kiros — who was fired from New York law firm Sidley Austin for posting a defense of Columbia “protesters” who targeted Jewish students — said one of her main goals after she joins Congress is to end the imaginary “genocide in Palestine.”

Then again, most “Free Palestine” activists can barely hide their contempt for the United States, as well.

One common belief among DSA candidates seems to be that the 3,000-plus Americans who lost their lives on 9/11 had it coming.

Kiros doesn’t go as far as her ally, communist Twitch streamer and Democratic Party kingmaker Hasan Piker, who once said we deserved it.

She just believes it was — again — “inevitable” because of America’s actions.

What wasn’t inevitable is this trend of Third World hatreds and ideologies being popularized within one of our two major political parties.

And, no, mainstream Democrats aren’t meekly surrendering to these socialists: They’re actively pursuing the extremists’ support.

Former, and perhaps future, presidential candidate Kamala Harris reportedly met in private recently with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and held lengthy, closed-door meetings with other hard-left “pro-Palestinian” activists.

Not only will other Democrats seek to ally with “dirtbag left” — a term coined by Sen. John Fetterman, one of the few in his party courageous enough to call out the anti-Americans — but House and Senate candidates are almost surely going to feel compelled to radicalize their own agendas to avoid primary challenges.

“One of the things that makes the Democratic Party great is it’s a big tent party,” quisling New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker said of Darializa Avila Chevalier and other socialist champions itching to overturn the constitutional order. “We need to stay that way.”

“I’m not afraid of new members or new ideas in the party,” California Sen. Adam Schiff said of the new socialists. “I welcome it.”

Well, communism isn’t a new idea.

Nor is antisemitism.

The only thing new here are Democrats willing to submit to the most extremist anti-American politicians the nation has ever seen.
