Team Trump slams 870,000 fraudsters — will Dems block future blows?

Vice President JD Vance just took another huge step in Team Trump’s war on fraud, with 870,000 grifters now in his sights.

This should be a bipartisan fight, but Democrats are conspicuously AWOL.

On Monday, the veep announced the banning from future federal small-business lending of apparent scammers behind up to $39 billion in COVID-aid scams: “If you screwed the American taxpayer, the federal government is now going to say you’re cut off,” he declared.

It’s a start, but why didn’t the Biden crew already do this no-brainer — did they just not care?

And what more will JD & Co. do about the theft?

Fact is, the Biden administration fell down badly in letting hundreds of billions in taxpayer cash flow straight to the grifters.

Indeed, Democrats’ COVID-era spending seemed designed to hand out trillions to pretty much anyone willing to steal it.

The Small Business Administration alone pumped out $1.2 trillion through its Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program.

“At least $200 billion of that was stolen,” reports SBA boss Kelly Loeffler.

So barring the 870,000 from more loans is just one step; Team Trump has also “referred over $22 billion in fraudulent small business loans back to the Treasury for collection,” Vance noted in May.

And the Justice Department is targeting hundreds more fraudsters for SBA-loan crimes, with 160 already slapped with felonies tied to hundreds of millions in thefts.

It’s all part of President Donald Trump’s campaign to save taxpayer cash by zeroing in on the massive fraud, waste and abuse plaguing federal outlays.

With Vance overseeing the aggressive anti-fraud task force, the Trumpies have been working to claw back as much as $160 billion just in fraudulent SBA loans, COVID-19 relief and student aid.

They’re also focused on tens of billions in Medicaid fraud in places like Minnesota, California and New York.

Good, and not just because every billion counts when Uncle Sam is running a $2.1 trillion deficit: Fraud will only grow if heads don’t roll.

And the state leaders who have enabled fraud — such as Minnesota’s Tim Walz, California’s Gavin Newsom and New York’s Kathy Hochul — need exposing, too.

Democrats seem to think all government spending is a win, and even massive theft (not to mention the soaring inflation the Dems’ spendapalooza produced, which still hasn’t fully subsided) shouldn’t stand in the way.

But the more you shell out indiscriminately, the more goes into the wrong hands.

Thank goodness Team Trump understands that; let’s hope Democrats don’t win enough power in November to block the prosecutions and the drive to recover the stolen cash.
