The week in whoppers: Hakeem Jeffries goes medieval on MAGA, Fran Lebowitz reveals her ignorance and more

· New York Post

Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions

This strategy:

“We have to break [MAGA extremists] electorally, and then we have to break their spirit.” — House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Tuesday

We say: Break their spirit? What happened to tolerating differing viewpoints and democratic traditions?

Jeffries is in line to be speaker if Democrats win the House, yet his yearning to crush his opposition sounds more like the Third World dictator he claims President Trump is.

This claim:

“[The wealthy] add nothing to New York . . . We don’t need you.” — Fran Lebowitz, Tuesday

We say: How ignorant can you get? Lebowitz insisted New York’s wealthy don’t employ anyone, produce anything or add value.

Huh? The companies they run employ millions. The top 1% pay nearly half the city and state’s taxes.

And they contribute tens of millions to charities that make the city great. Just for starters.

This promise:

“[I’ll] turn Karnes ICE Detention Center into a prison for American Zionists and . . . a castration processing center.” — Maureen Galindo, in an Instagram post that circulated Tuesday

We say: This blatantly antisemitic, screwball “sex therapist” actually won the most votes (29.2%) in last month’s Democratic primary for a Texas congressional seat.

Worse, her lunatic antisemitic hate actually appeals to many Dem voters. Beyond  disgusting.

This charge:

“[Israel’s] occupation in Lebanon . . . [is] on its way potentially to being a genocide.” — Brad Lander, May 15

We say: Dem congressional wannabe Brad Pander, er, Lander can’t stop at lies about “genocide” in Gaza; he’s also claiming the Jewish state is on the verge of genocide in Lebanon, too.

Israel is merely defending itself from terrorists while taking care to protect civilians.

(By the way, the imam who hosted Lander for this remark later prayed for “the killing of infidels,” which would include . . . Lander.)
