Michael Goodwin: Usual suspects wail about SCOTUS ruling upholding states’ rights to ban transgender athletes

· New York Post

The Supreme Court ruling that upholds states’ rights to ban transgender athletes from competing in girls and women’ sports provoked wailing from the usual suspects.

New York Attorney General Letitia James denounced what she called “cruel and discriminatory laws targeting the trans community,” and accused the court of deciding to continue on a “dangerous and harmful path.”

Oh, please.

She said the ruling “ignores fact, science, and decency in favor of abandoning young trans people nationwide.”

Well, yes, it does discriminate against men who are not biological females from participating against those who are.

That’s not discrimination — it’s common sense and fairness.

Has James not seen the lopsided results in swimming and other sports when males who claim they are females are allowed to participate?

Where is her compassion for females by birth who unfairly lost awards and sometimes suffered physical injuries as a result?

The New York Times also offered its warped opinion in a so-called news article.

Headlined, “ ‘Heartbreaking’ Ruling Leaves Trans Advocates Crestfallen,” the paper said the decision “was the latest in a series of defeats.”

After citing President Trump and others hailing the ruling, the Gray Lady left the impression that America is full of bigots and that the ruling gives them aid and comfort.

Fair play and the safety of biological females were not mentioned.

Of course not.
