Dreadful Elon Musk hit-piece documentary only serves to fuel Dems’ frenzy against him before midterms

· New York Post

The new Elon Musk documentary, “Musk”, is an excruciatingly boring four hours of Luddite fearmongering and left-wing sermonizing. The point clearly wasn’t entertainment.

The movie is so awful that even in Musk-loathing Manhattan it played to empty theaters, with just a handful of die-hard green-hairs at the 3 p.m. Saturday session I endured.

It was such a box-office flop it’s been pulled from almost all theaters. This past weekend there was a single 10 a.m. session in all of Manhattan, while you could barely find a ticket to see the riveting new documentary about Theranos fraudster Elizabeth Holmes, “You Can See Everything.”

Musk opened Oct. 16 after a test run on four screens and, as of Sunday, had earned $643,432, according to Box Office Mojo.

“You Can See Everything” opened the same day and has earned more than $45 million. That’s because it’s a thoughtful treatment of an actual villain who tricked cancer patients and defrauded investors. Filmmaker Nathan Fielder also had incredible access, moving into Holmes’ house with her family before she went to prison.

In left’s crosshairs

“Musk” filmmaker Alex Gibney, on the other hand, set out to do a hit job, so had zero access to his subject.

Instead, he created an AI-generated version of Musk saying evil things, accompanied by ominous music.

Yes it really was as bad as this.

But it serves a purpose as propaganda to fuel the Democrats’ anti-Musk frenzy before the midterms.

From the Bulwark to CNN, Democrats are salivating about using their anticipated new power to destroy the world’s richest man.

Obama bros fantasize about nationalizing Musk’s companies. They say Musk will have to buy a townhouse in Washington because he’ll be spending so much time testifying in Congress.

They say he’s going to need all his trillion dollars for lawyers to fight a barrage of criminal charges. They can’t wait for him to be behind bars.

This from the same people who a minute ago were railing against the “weaponization” of the justice system against Ilhan Omar.

“We’ve got to defund Musk,” squeaked Robert Reich, the anti-free market economist beloved by The Guardian.

“If we have a Democrat administration, and the Democrats should be starting this, not just with oversight hearings, but also laying the groundwork for nationalizing Starlink and SpaceX,” he told some lefty podcast last week.

In case you thought he was just one lone madman, no. Seizing Musk’s companies is a serious talking point among the Trump-deranged.

David Frum, a former Bush speechwriter, and former Bush spokeswoman Nicolle Wallace echoed the demand on MS NOW.

In his New York Times column, Paul Krugman, another economist who is wrong about everything, cited FDR nationalizing companies during World War II as a template for crushing Musk.

He went into lascivious detail about a businessman named Sewell Avery who had to be physically carried out of his office by the National Guard when they seized his Chicago factory.

That’s their dream for Musk.

Joe Biden tried when he sicced the federal government on Musk with 32 separate politicized investigations, including one criminal case.

Don’t expect Musk to go quietly if the Dems come for him again.

“Live by the sword, die by the sword,” he tweeted last week at his persecutors.

Will fight back

“Those who pick fights with me should understand that I will find out who is really pulling the strings and come for them, not just their puppets.”

Democrats are enraged that Musk is donating hundreds of millions of dollars to help Republican candidates win the midterms.

But they have their own suite of billionaire mega-donors, like George Soros, Michael Bloomberg and Reid Hoffman, who donate just as much collectively.

James Talarico, the Dems’ Senate nominee in Texas, made Musk his boogeyman at a rally in San Antonio on Saturday.

“Elon Musk wants our land. He wants our water. He wants our tax dollars. He wants his very own personal United States senator.”

Talarico went on to claim that unlike Ken Paxton, he is funded by small-dollar grassroots donations.

That’s a laugh. Like most Democrats, to augment the riches he rakes in from super PACS, he relies on the Democrats’ online fundraising platform, ACTBlue, for these “grassroots” donations.

Ongoing congressional investigations and mass resignations of ACTBlue’s own legal staff have revealed scandalously porous safeguards that allow straw donors and foreign donors to launder money into campaigns.

Democrats also demonized Musk last week after he admitted to temporarily throttling Ukraine’s access to SpaceX’s civilian satellite service, Starlink, in Ukraine.

Musk explained on the weekend that SpaceX restricted Starlink last week because Ukraine’s military had violated the terms of service by using it to “kill people,” instead of just to defend itself from Russian attacks.

“Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be,” he tweeted, pointing out that Starshield is a separate military-grade system controlled by the US government that can be used for offensive purposes on the battlefield.

“Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now… SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR.”

But it doesn’t matter what feats Musk pulls off.

Feats dismissed

Democrats hate him because they view him as an apostate, the first of the tech titans to turn against the “woke mind virus” they weaponized to seize power.

Musk’s crimes against the left are all documented in the woeful documentary that bears his name.

Gibney portrays everything Musk does as sinister and evil.

Here, for example, is how he describes Musk opening factories in Texas and employing thousands of people:

“Musk didn’t just move to Texas. He colonized it. Beyond factories for Tesla and SpaceX, his own personal compound in Austin, he founded 90 companies who built two company towns for workers, including schools.”

The documentary dismisses all of Musk’s accomplishments and big dreams. At SpaceX, he pioneered reusable rockets, rescued astronauts, launched half of all satellites in orbit, and is trying to get us to Mars. At Tesla, he mass-produced electric vehicles. At Neuralink, he’s helping blind people see. He saved Twitter for free speech and is developing a non-woke AI, to name a few.

But this is Gibney’s take: “His data centers belched poisonous gas. His nickel mines and lithium refineries leached into our aquifers. And his satellites choked the skies. Having warned us about rogue AI agents, he implanted them in an army of robots meant to take over the planet.”

The dreary documentary finally ends with a simulated planet Earth blowing up in space while a simulated Elon is in a spaceship merrily escaping to Mars.

Musk’s response to Gibney’s dross? He unveiled a flying car. His best revenge is success.
