Deion Sanders isn’t for everyone — but you can’t deny his results

· New York Post

Really, this shouldn’t be a surprise.

Not if you followed Deion Sanders at Jackson State. Not if you saw how he recruited at the SWAC school. Maybe his bombastic personality turned you off, the unnecessary shots he took at others, the look-at-me approach he has had his entire life, the manner in which he turned over the Colorado roster upon his arrival.

Sanders isn’t for everyone. He can be over the top. He can be sensitive to criticism. His ego is larger than the state of Texas. But the man can coach.

Two years removed from winning a single game, Sanders has Colorado tied atop the Big 12 with BYU, needing to beat last place Oklahoma State and four-win Kansas to qualify for the league’s title game. At this point, it’s hard to bet against that happening. It is similar to what he did at Jackson State, leading the program to back-to-back SWAC crowns in 2021-22. It hadn’t won the league title since 2007.
