The week in whoppers: Schumer, Warnock gaslight on Obamacare, Crockett perverts crime stats and more

Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions

This Tweet:

We say: Wrong: It’s Obamacare itself — designed by Democrats that’s driving up premiums (most of which taxpayers still cover). And it was Dems, not Republicans, who set the COVID-era subsidy-boosters to expire on Dec. 31, rightly expecting the pandemic to end by then. How are “Republicans” to blame?

This charge:

“Republicans . . . voted to double your premiums 13 times.” — Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), Tuesday

We say: Schumer’s not the only Dem lying about Bamcare. Contra Warnock’s claim, Republicans never voted to double premiums — not even once. They merely opted not to extend the expiration date Democrats set for some subsidies (while leaving others, covering 80% of premiums, in place).

This claim:

“The people who commit 80% of the most violent crimes in this country are white supremacists.” — Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), Tuesday

We say: Not even close. Crockett may be basing her claim on a 2023 report by the left-leaning ADL that tied 21 of 25 “extremist” murders, or 84%, to white supremacists in the prior year. Yet that’s a miniscule percentage of the nation’s nearly 20,000 annual murders.

This prediction:

“History will show that it was the decent, ordinary people . . . who stood up for Palestine.” — Jeremy Corbyn, British MP, Wednesday

We say: “Decent” people actually know there’s no such thing as “Palestine” —  mainly because Palestinians repeatedly reject generous offers to create such a state. Good folks also know that, rather than work for peace, Palestinians have encouraged terrorists (they even pay them) to attack innocents in an effort to destroy the Jewish homeland. “Decent” people should deplore that.
