Armand Membou gets better of David Bailey in latest Jets camp battle

Observations from Jets training camp Tuesday.

Block and roll

It’s easy to see why the Jets are so high on young right tackle Armand Membou. He had a strong practice, but one play stood out. During one-on-one drills, rookie edge rusher David Bailey tried to overpower him after an initial speed rush — and Membou stonewalled him.

Oh, no, Geno

For a second straight day, Geno Smith threw an interception. He tried to force a pass to TE Mason Taylor through traffic. It was deflected and picked off by CB Brandon Stephens. Smith finished practice well after a slow start.

Caught my eye

Return specialist Isaiah Williams had an active day at receiver. The highlight was a diving grab of a deep Smith pass. A fired-up Smith sprinted down the field and pumped his fist after the play.

Injury report

TE Kenyon Sadiq suffered a setback and will miss time as he works his way back from a May hernia operation. Coach Aaron Glenn is optimistic he will return in time for the start of the regular season. … DE Kingsley Enagbare didn’t practice. Glenn called it precautionary after he was stepped on Monday.
