The Bondi Beach nightmare: Letters to the Editor — Dec. 18, 2025
· New York PostThe Issue: Concerns about the global rise of antisemitism after the terrorist attack at Bondi Beach.
Just like the war on illegal drugs entering our country, the war on terror and antisemitism should take no prisoners (“Aussie PM ripped on record vs. Jew-hate,” Dec. 17).
The more this is ignored by world leaders, the more we will witness attacks like the one in Australia. Wake up, America.

Is there any stronger evidence that Jews need Israel than what happened in Australia?
Intifada is a reality being activated by activists all over the world, and that would include proponents in American cities and in Congress.
Remember: Germany was a democratic country when Adolf Hitler took over.

Kudos to The Post for its extensive coverage of the murders of Jewish revelers in Australia on the first night of Hanukkah. The 15 photographs of the victims gave the stories life and impact. My hearty compliments.
As an American Jew, I am proud to be able to practice my religion in a “safe” America. This tragedy reminds us all of the frailty of life and the danger of racial, religious and cultural hatred.
Thank you for giving this story the sizable exposure it deserves. The victims will never be forgotten by us Jewish Americans.

How brave the man who disarmed the shooter in the Australian shooting is. He was an immigrant from Syria who went to Australia for a better life.
He loved the country enough to put his life on the line to save other people. He should be applauded not only for his actions but also for his patriotism. May he make a full recovery.

From the mass murder at Bondi Beach, to the foiled New Year’s Eve terror plot in Los Angeles, to the cancellation of the New Year’s celebration along the Champs-Élysées in Paris, one thing is clear: Something wicked this way comes.

The Bondi Beach massacre was not a local Australian tragedy. It was the activation of a hostile ideology — “globalize the intifada” — whose goal is to destabilize non-Islamic civilization.

The Issue: Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s pledge to protect Jews following the Bondi Beach massacre.
Despite Zohran Mamdani’s boilerplate denunciation of the events on Bondi Beach, there is no doubt where his sympathies lie (“Zo: ‘I’ll keep Jews safe,’ ” Dec. 15).
The moment after he takes the oath of office, he should be removed by Gov. Hochul.
Sydney cries out a warning to New York of the dangers of government indifference — or worse — to antisemitism.

So, Zohran Mamdani made a pro-forma generic statement condemning the Bondi Beach massacre. This was a stark example of the phrase “globalize the intifada” that Mamdani refuses to condemn; that he still won’t condemn that phrase even now tells you all you need to know about who he really is.
It’s obvious what feelings lurk behind that perpetual snake-oil salesman’s fraudulent smile.

Mayor-elect Mamdani’s sympathetic words after the Bondi Beach attack against Jewish holiday celebrants and his visit to the grave of the revered Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, do not disguise his animus towards Israel and its supporters.
Indeed, New Yorkers of all backgrounds need to fasten their seat belts as this promises to be a uniquely bumpy ride.
