Residents of Nabatieh, which is overlooked by the Ali Taher ridge, woke up to a drastically changed landscape, with large sections of vegetation gone following the massive Israeli detonations of tunnels beneath the hill overlooking the city the previous evening. The loss of greenery was visible over a distance estimated at about two kilometers, according to residents of the neighboring Marjayoun area — a distance corresponding to the length of the tunnels the Israeli army says it destroyed."It's so painful and sad to see a mountain we used to praise for its beauty blown up," lamented Faten Sabbah, 60, at dawn.
