Voter overwhelmed by ballot ‘bloated’ with propositions
Since moving to the United States from Vietnam and becoming a naturalized citizen in the 1980s, Phuong Nguyen has voted in every election. It’s a part of his civic duty as an American, he said Tuesday morning, as he dropped off his ballot at the North Natomas Library.
While he loves California, Phuong said he was overwhelmed with the voting process, especially with the list of statewide ballot propositions.
“California has a flawed process when it comes to propositions,” Nguyen said. “There’s too many people, too many opportunities to put things on the ballot and get things a little bit more bloated than it really needs to be.”
