Mangaluru: Two-wheeler rider dies in rear-end collision with tanker near Arkula Bridge

Mangaluru, Mar 29: A young two-wheeler rider lost his life on Sunday morning after colliding from behind with a tanker near Arkula Bridge, according to police.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Ashok, 22, a resident of Farangipet.

According to the traffic police, the incident occurred near a furniture shop close to Arkula Bridge. The two-wheeler was heading towards B C Road when it struck the tanker from behind. The impact left Mohammed Ashok critically injured.

“He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Padil for first aid and later shifted to a city hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries before he could receive advanced care,” a police official said.

A case has been registered by the traffic police, who are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
