Man injured in deadly Mesa plane crash released from hospital

MESA, Arizona — An 18-year-old who survived a plane crash that killed five people has been released from the hospital.

A small jet crashed into a vehicle in Arizona on Nov. 5, resulting in the death of four plane occupants and the driver of the car.

The plane crashed while taking off from Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, according to a police statement. The Honda HA-420 light business jet struck the vehicle outside the airport property at 4:40 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The accident remains under investigation.

Plane passenger Kimball Lindahl, 18, was taken to a hospital with burn injuries after the accident.

Mesa police announced Wednesday that Lindahl has been released from the hospital.

The four plane occupants killed in the crash were Spencer Lindahl, 43; Rustin Randall, 48; Drew Kimball, 44; and Graham Kimball, 12. The driver of the vehicle also died but police have not said who that was.

According to family who spoke with KSL-TV, the private plane was headed to Provo to go to a BYU basketball game.

The plane belonged to Spencer Lindahl, who grew up in Utah, according to his family. They said Kimball Lindahl was his son.

Spencer Lindahl leaves behind a wife and four kids and was helping to run a successful property management company in Arizona.

His 20-year-old daughter returned from her mission to Brazil for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Nov. 6, missing her dad by less than a day.

Randall also leaves behind a wife and four kids.
