Person arrested after 2 women missing at Sand Hollow Reservoir

HURRICANE, Washington County — A person was arrested on Wednesday for investigation of automobile homicide after two women went missing in the Sand Hollow Reservoir.

The Utah Department of Natural Resources said the two women were reported missing near the southern portion of the reservoir about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A person was already in custody in relation to the women's disappearances.

DNR requested that the public avoid the South Beach area while officials conducted their investigation into the women's disappearances. Neither of them were wearing life jackets, and DNR said alcohol was considered as a potential contributing factor.
