Teen e-motorcycle rider critically injured in Provo crash
by Carter Williams ksl · KSL.comPROVO — A 17-year-old was critically injured after the e-motorcycle they were riding was struck by another vehicle in Provo Friday afternoon.
Police and other emergency services responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of 600 West and Center Street shortly after 4:30 p.m. The teen was riding the e-motorcycle north on 600 West when they were struck by a vehicle traveling east on Center Street, Provo police spokesperson Janna-Lee Holland said in a statement.
The teen, whose name was not immediately released, was transported to Utah Valley Hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.
It wasn't immediately clear what caused the collision, which remains under investigation.
The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene and has cooperated with police in the investigation, Holland said. She added that some lanes in the area were still closed as of 8 p.m. while police investigated. It wasn't clear when those would reopen.
