Man charged with attempted murder after woman seriously injured in Small Heath

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was found with serious injuries in Small Heath. Police said the incident happened in Heather Road on Sunday, January 12.

The victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. She remains in hospital but was now in a stable condition, police said this afternoon, Tuesday, January 14.

Raju Mollah, 49, was remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court. He was due in court today for a first hearing.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson told BirminghamLive: "We've charged a man with attempted murder after a woman was found with serious injuries in Heather Road, Birmingham, last Sunday, January 12.

"Raju Mollah, aged 49, was remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today for a first hearing. The woman remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital."
