Lozells shooting probe as police charge man with attempted murder

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Birmingham. It followed an incident on Villa Road in Lozells on the morning of Sunday, November 10.

Police said the victim, a man in his 30s, remained in hospital. But his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Ahmed Hussen, 25, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today, Friday, November 15.

In a statement, police said: "We've charged a man with attempted murder after another man was shot in Lozells. We acted on information and arrested Ahmed Hussen in connection with the shooting in Villa Road, which happened last Sunday morning.

"The 25-year-old, from Aston, was last night charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court today.
