Men arrested after Audi driver killed and girl hurt in A456 four-car crash tragedy

Police have arrested two men after a woman was killed and a girl taken to hospital in serious crash on the A456 Wassell Grove towards Halesowen on Saturday October 19. The fatal crash, which involved four cars, killed a female Audi driver at the scene, just after 1pm on Saturday.

A girl, who was also in the Audi, sustained injuries and was rushed to Birmingham Children's Hospital. West Mercia Police confirmed on Sunday morning they had arrested two men in their 20s on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Nothing could be done to save the Audi driver, who died at the scene of the crash. Officers have released an urgent appeal following the crash on the outskirts of Birmingham, urging anyway potential witnesses or people with dashcam footage to get in touch.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses to a collision on the A456, Wassell Grove towards Halesowen, yesterday afternoon (19 October).

"The collision happened around 1:15pm, when an Audi E-Tron, VW Passat, Ford Fiesta and Skoda Fabia collided. The driver of the Audi, a woman in her 40s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

"A girl in the Audi was taken to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Two men, 25 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

"Officers would like to speak to anybody who may have seen the collision or from anybody who has dash cam footage from around the time it happened.
